Volunteer Activities

Active member of Derby Fire Department since 1973 and served as line officer in 1994, 1995 and 1996 Storm Engine Company #2. Emergency Medical Technician since 1980 ALS certified in 1982. Chief of Storm Ambulance and Rescue Corps Inc. since 1987. Responsible for overall management of EMS system for City of Derby, manage approx. 50 volunteer and paid staff members, in an EMS system that does Approx. 2500 calls per year. Direct operations on scene for EMS/Rescue and Haz-mat services delivery to the public. Responsible for all administrative operations. Storm Ambulance is also responsible for technical and heavy rescue, high and low angle rescue, water rescue and has a 25-member hazardous materials response team. (NHASH New Haven Area Special Hazards) these units provide services to the City of Derby and to the lower Naugatuck Valley. I have also served on the City of Derby’s Local Emergency Planning Committee and participate in the Emergency Operations Center for the City of Derby. I serve as a board member of the South-Central Emergency Medical Services Council, the City of Derby on the Valley Emergency Medical Services board of directors
